System Description
The HiRes Axial Flaw Detection Tool uses ROSEN's own transverse flux technology to induce a magnetic field perpendicular to the pipeline's longitudinal axis. The AFD detects and measures narrow longitudinal flaws such as notches, fissures, gouges and channeling corrosion clearly and precisely. It is now possible to accurately detect seam welds, their orientation around the circumference, and seam weld flaws.

The AFD tool consists of the following:

• Battery, Electronic and Memory Unit
• Magnet and Sensor Unit
• Odometer Unit
